1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website, products, and professional services offered by NorthPath Careers Inc. ("NorthPath," "we," "us," or "our"), a federally incorporated company under the laws of Canada (Federal Corporation #1154082-3). By accessing our website, engaging our services, or submitting information through our contact forms, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our website or engage our services.
2. Description of Services
NorthPath Careers Inc. provides the following professional services:
- Career consulting: Personalized career strategy, job market analysis, and career transition planning for the Canadian market
- Resume and LinkedIn optimization: Professional resume writing, LinkedIn profile optimization, and cover letter preparation tailored to Canadian employer expectations
- Immigration advisory services: Work permit applications, LMIA processing, Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program guidance, permanent residency applications, and citizenship applications — provided exclusively by our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)
- Credential recognition: Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) guidance through designated organizations (WES, IQAS, etc.), professional licensing support, and bridging program referrals
- 1-on-1 career coaching: Interview preparation, salary negotiation, networking strategies, and personalized career action plans delivered by CCDP-certified coaches
- Senior and retiree employment: Encore career planning, part-time and consulting role placement, and skills-to-market assessments for professionals aged 55+
- Employer solutions: LMIA application support, international talent sourcing, onboarding consulting, and diversity workforce planning for Canadian employers
3. Professional Standards and Licensing
NorthPath Careers Inc. operates under the following professional standards and regulatory frameworks:
- CICC Regulated: Our immigration consultants are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), licence numbers #R-417895, #R-707026, and #R-705896. All immigration advice and representation is provided exclusively by licensed RCICs in compliance with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act.
- Law Society of Ontario (LSO) Registered: Our lead lawyer, Eddy Ramirez, is licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (#89482N) and practices in accordance with the Law Society Act and the LSO Rules of Professional Conduct.
- Foreign Worker Recruitment: We hold a Foreign Worker Recruitment Agency Permit (AR-2101943) and comply with all applicable provincial recruitment legislation.
- Federal incorporation: NorthPath Careers Inc. is incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (ISED Corporation No. 1154082-3, Business No. 778530535RC0001).

4. Client Responsibilities
By engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information: You must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information for all documents, applications, and communications. Providing false or misleading information may result in the termination of our services and could have serious legal consequences, including denial or revocation of immigration status.
- Timely communication: You must respond to our requests for information, documents, and approvals within reasonable timeframes. Delays in providing required materials may affect processing times and outcomes.
- Pay agreed fees: You must pay all fees as outlined in your service agreement and in accordance with the payment terms described in Section 7.
- Review documents: You are responsible for reviewing all documents prepared on your behalf for accuracy before submission.
- Comply with laws: You must comply with all applicable Canadian and foreign laws throughout our engagement.
- Disclose relevant information: You must disclose any information that may be material to your case, including prior immigration refusals, criminal history, or other relevant circumstances.
5. Disclaimers
No guarantee of outcomes: While we strive to provide the highest quality professional services, NorthPath Careers Inc. does not guarantee any specific outcome, including but not limited to:
- Approval of immigration applications, work permits, permanent residency, or citizenship applications
- Job placement, employment offers, or specific salary levels
- Favourable credential assessment results
- Positive LMIA decisions
- Specific processing times by government agencies
Immigration decisions are made solely by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and other relevant government authorities. Employment decisions are made by individual employers. Results vary based on individual circumstances, qualifications, market conditions, and government policies that are beyond our control.
Professional advice, not legal opinion: Unless specifically identified as legal advice provided by our licensed lawyer, the information and guidance we provide constitutes professional consulting advice and should not be construed as a legal opinion. For matters requiring formal legal opinions, we will clearly identify such advice as being provided by our LSO-licensed lawyer.

6. Intellectual Property
All content on the NorthPath Careers website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, design elements, and software — is the property of NorthPath Careers Inc. or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise use our content without our prior written consent.
- The NorthPath Careers name, logo, and related trademarks are trademarks of NorthPath Careers Inc. and may not be used without our written permission.
- Documents prepared specifically for you as part of our services (e.g., resumes, cover letters, career plans) become your property upon full payment of applicable fees.
- Our proprietary methodologies, templates, frameworks, and training materials remain our intellectual property.
7. Payment Terms
7.1 Fees
Service fees are as listed on our website or as specified in your individual service agreement. All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes (GST/HST). We reserve the right to modify our fees at any time; however, any fee changes will not affect services already contracted and paid for.
7.2 Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Career consulting packages require full payment prior to the commencement of services.
- Immigration services may be billed in stages as outlined in your service agreement, with an initial retainer required before work begins.
- Government fees, third-party assessment fees, and other disbursements are the responsibility of the client and are billed separately.
7.3 Refund Policy
- Before work begins: If you cancel your engagement before any substantive work has been performed, you are entitled to a full refund minus a $50 CAD administrative fee.
- After work has begun: Refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis, reflecting the services already rendered. Completed deliverables (e.g., finished resumes, submitted applications) are non-refundable.
- Government and third-party fees: Fees paid to government agencies, credential assessment bodies, or other third parties are non-refundable by NorthPath, as these are remitted to external organizations.
- Free assessments: Initial 30-minute assessment consultations are provided at no charge and carry no obligation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- NorthPath Careers Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of our services or website.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for delays, denials, or adverse decisions by government agencies, employers, or third-party organizations.
- We are not liable for losses resulting from information you provided that was inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
9. Confidentiality
We treat all client information as strictly confidential. Our confidentiality obligations are governed by:
- The CICC Code of Professional Conduct for immigration consultants
- The LSO Rules of Professional Conduct for legal services
- Our Privacy Policy, which details how we collect, use, and protect your personal information
- Individual confidentiality agreements where applicable
Confidential information will not be disclosed except as authorized by you, as required by law, or as necessary to provide our services (e.g., submitting applications to government agencies on your behalf).
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1 Informal Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or our services, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an informal resolution. Many concerns can be addressed promptly through direct communication with your assigned consultant or our management team.
10.2 Mediation
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may propose mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Ottawa, Ontario. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally by both parties.
10.3 Binding Arbitration
If mediation does not resolve the dispute, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration conducted in Ottawa, Ontario, in accordance with the arbitration rules of the ADR Institute of Ontario. The decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding.
10.4 Regulatory Complaints
Nothing in this section prevents you from filing a complaint with the relevant regulatory body:
- For immigration services: College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)
- For legal services: Law Society of Ontario (LSO)
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings arising from these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
12. Termination
- By you: You may terminate our engagement at any time by providing written notice. Fees for services already rendered are non-refundable, and refunds for unused services will be handled in accordance with Section 7.3.
- By us: We reserve the right to terminate our engagement if you breach these Terms, provide false information, fail to pay fees when due, engage in conduct that is abusive or threatening toward our staff, or if a conflict of interest arises. We will provide reasonable notice and assist with transition where possible.
13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. For clients under active service agreements, significant changes will be communicated directly via email.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any individual service agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and NorthPath Careers Inc. regarding the subject matter herein. These Terms supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
